Robert Clements serves as Partner / General Counsel at Benchmark Business Group in Des Moines, Iowa. He is also a co-founder and the Strategic Marketing Director of the firm, which combines brokerage with business coaching and consulting, and he guides the company through legal issues arising during business purchases and sales. He practiced law for more than thirty years, covering business law, commercial transactions, banking, workouts, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and succession planning. He also helped owners address organizational and financial challenges, acting as facilitator and mediator in many business disputes. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 1973 from Creighton University School of Law. He has owned and managed five businesses. He presided over a local chamber of commerce, a community improvement association for downtown businesses, and a venture capital group.
