He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and presided over the university's largest fraternity. He later earned a finance-focused Master of Business Administration from Texas State University. He worked in manufacturing for Department of Defense prime contractors before pursuing entrepreneurship. Over the next 15 years, he bought, built, and sold companies across several industries.
